Spouse of the President Mrs. Nouneh Sarkissian was present at the concert dedicated to the great Polish composer Krzysztof Penderecki which was organized in the framework of the Modern Classics composers festival held in Yerevan. Pieces by Krzysztof Penderecki were performed by Armenia’s National Philharmonic Orchestra. After the concert, Mrs. Nouneh Sarkissian met with the renowned composer and his wife Elzbieta Penderecka and the musicians, conveyed her impressions and gratitude to the talented composer and musicians.

The Modern Classics composers festival is being held in Yerevan for the first time. It has a purpose of presenting through the concerts the best contemporary composers of the world and their creations.
