Nouneh Sarkissian attended the presentation of a new joint project of Health journal and Yerevan, My Love Fund

The spouse of the President of Armenia Nouneh Sarkissian today at the Yerevan, My Love Fund attended the presentation of a new joint project of the Health journal and the Fund. In the framework of the project, a special awareness campaign will be carried out in social networks for the children with special needs and health issues.

It aims at presenting to the public in an accessible way different health and late development issues, stressing the need for the entire society’s involvement, the importance of individual and equal opportunities.

Mrs. Sarkissian underscored the significance of implementing this project and noted that every step should be taken to make individuals with disabilities the full members of the society. “20, 30, 40 years ago people were trying to hide their disabled children at home, behind closed doors and windows. When we met someone on the street who was not like us, we were surprised, tried to understand why they were different. But today I can proudly state that my grandchildren, for instance, see it as quite natural, they would run up to the disabled kids or adults, hug them and try to help. We all can be proud that our attitude towards the disabled has changed,” Nouneh Sarkissian said.

During her visit to Yerevan, My Love Fund the spouse of the President familiarized with the works of the Luseh rehabilitation and educational center, conversed with children and their parents.
