Working visit of the President Vahagn Khachaturyan to the Federal Republic of Germany
President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan is on a working visit to Berlin, the capital of the Federal Republic of Germany, upon the invitation of the German side.
Within the scope of the visit, President of the Republic of Armenia attended the opening ceremony of the Special Olympic Games held in Berlin.
Athletes representing Armenia also take part in the games. During the event, President Khachaturyan greeted and had a brief talk with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser, Captains Regent of San Marino Alessandro Scarano and Adele Tonnini.
During the working visit, President Kachaturyan will have meetings with the President of Germany and senior leadership, as well as representatives of the Armenian community.

Within the working visit to the Federal Republic of Germany, President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan met with the President of Hungary Katalin Novák in Berlin.
Possibilities and pathways to promote bilateral relations and cooperation were discussed at the meeting.
The sides attached importance to the cooperation between Armenia and Hungary in the scope of CEPA as well as touched upon the prospects of exercising the existing potential for cooperation on other international platforms.
The Presidents exchanged ideas on the shared values and ideological features of the Armenian and Hungarian peoples with a particular emphasis on the importance of Christian and traditional values for both peoples.
During the discussion, President of Hungary Katalin Novák invited the President of the Republic Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan to attend the Budapest Demographic Summit dedicated to the demographic issues in European countries and the pathways to address them.
Toward the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached to sustain effective contacts in the future aimed at promoting closer cooperation between the two countries.

President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan met with the President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Berlin.
President Vahagn Khachaturyan expressed gratitude to his counterpart for the invitation.
Frank-Walter Steinmeier, in turn, thanked Vahagn Khachaturyan for accepting the invitation and attending the opening ceremony of the Special Olympic Games.
During the meeting, the Presidents discussed a range of issues related to the areas and opportunities of Armenian-German multi-level cooperation. Both sides attached importance to the effective cooperation between Armenia and Germany on various international platforms.
In the course of discussion, the Presidents touched upon the overall situation in the South Caucasus region and the Karabakh conflict.
President Vahagn Khachaturyan highlighted that Armenia is fully committed to achieving sustainable and durable peace in the region and is ready to establish neighborly and normalized relations with its neighbors without any preconditions.
In his speech, President Steinmeier noted that the efforts made by Armenia in achieving peace are highly valued by Europe. The President of Germany placed a special emphasis on the recognition of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity by Armenia which is an essential step in the process of further normalization of relations.
At the meeting, the sides also exchanged ideas on the present stage of the dialogue between Armenia and Turkey. President Vahagn Khachaturyan emphasized that Armenia is fully ready to move toward normalization of relations without preconditions.
President Steinmeier underscored that Germany supports Armenia's efforts to establish good relations with its neighbors. Frank-Walter Steinmeier noted that Germany is interested in the establishment of sustainable peace in the South Caucasus region and will make efforts within its capacity to contribute to the establishment of lasting stability in our region.

President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan visited and laid flowers at the cross-stone commemorating the victims of the Armenian Genocide in Berlin.
The cross-stone was placed in 2016 after the adoption of the resolution on the Armenian Genocide by the Bundestag.

President of the Landtag highlighted that a number of joint agricultural projects are presently underway, particularly in Armavir region, and these projects have a tendency to expand.
President of the Republic of Armenia attached importance to such initiatives that contribute to the decentralized development of various sectors of the country's economy and expressed his willingness to support their implementation to the best of his ability.
During the discussion, both sides emphasized the need to exercise the great potential of cooperation in the field of culture, education, agriculture among others.
Toward the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue effective working contacts.

Within the framework of his working visit to the German Federation, President Vahagn Khachaturyan visited the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Systems and Design Technology.
The President, accompanied by the Director of the Institute, Professor Eckart Uhlmann, toured the Institute and familiarized himself with the main areas of its activity.
Professor Uhlmann noted that the Institute has 76 branches and closely cooperates with scientific centers based on the principles of scientific industry development.
During the meeting, the Director of the Institute also noted that they have successful cooperation with Matenadaran, the American University of Armenia and the Engineering City and also expressed the desire to establish cooperative relations with the Tumo Center.
In his speech, President Vahagn Khachaturyan underscored that he is in full support of the implementation of joint initiatives between Armenian and German professionals and the adoption of the best German practices in the field of scientific industry in Armenia.
Toward the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached to further continue the working discussions.

Within the framework of his working visit to the Federal Republic of Germany, President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan visited the Berlin Municipality and left a note in the honorary guest book.
Mayor of Berlin Kai Wegner expressed his gratitude for the visit and noted that the visit of the President is the first high-level reception for him in the position of mayor.
President Vahagn Khachaturyan thanked for the reception as well as for the high-level organization of the Special Olympics Games.
During the meeting with the mayor, a wide range of issues of mutual interest were discussed. It was noted on both sides that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Armenian-German relations have been developing dynamically and entail great potential for cooperation.
In his speech, the President introduced the details regarding the developments in the South Caucasus region and the current state of the Karabakh conflict. President Khachaturyan emphasized that Armenia is committed to its position of establishing sustainable peace in the region and good relations with its neighbors, and also highly appreciated the efforts of partners including the Chancellor of Germany to establish peace.
Kai Wegner noted that the visit of the RA President will be a fresh impetus for the consistent development of relations between Armenia and Germany and will enhance further development of Armenian-German cooperation in the field of trade, economy, culture, high-tech industry among others.
During the discussion, both sides attached importance to the commitment to principles of democratic freedoms and rule of human rights which are universal values and a good foundation for further strengthening the friendly relations between the two countries and exchanging best practices.

President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan visited Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom in Berlin.
Welcoming the President of the Republic of Armenia, Chairperson of the Foundation Heinz Paque expressed his gratitude for the visit and highlighted that the Foundation has implemented many important projects in Armenia over the years.
The President thanked for the warm reception and addressed the long-term activities of the Foundation highlighting its role in the spread of democracy and democratic ideas in Armenia and generally in the South Caucasus.
During the discussion, the sides touched upon the general regional developments, reforms implemented in the establishment of democratic institutions in Armenia and pathways to address the existing challenges. The President also emphasized that sustainable peace is one of the key prerequisites for the formation and strengthening of democratic systems which is one of the ultimate goals pursued by the Foundation.
President Vahagn Khachaturyan noted that he personally along with many young political figures in Armenia closely cooperated with the Foundation which had a positive effect on the spread of liberal ideas.
President Vahagn Khachaturyan underscored that he is in full support of the initiatives promoting the establishment and development of democratic institutions in Armenia.
The President also expressed hope that the Naumann Foundation will set its traditional activities in motion in the South Caucasus region in the near future serving as an additional impetus for strengthening democracy and democratic institutions and establishing peace.

President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan met with the businessmen of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy at the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Berlin.
During the meeting, President Vahagn Khachaturyan spoke in detail about the features of the Armenian economic life and the possibilities for liberal economy.
The President highlighted that he personally pays great attention to making the investment environment attractive for business and direct investments. In this regard, Vahagn Khachaturyan touched upon the significant increase in direct investments made in Armenia over the last year as well as the influx of businessmen from a number of countries.
The President emphasized that the interest of foreign entrepreneurs and organizations in doing business in Armenia is also due to the attractive environment required for business in the country and the introduction of simplified bureaucratic mechanisms.
During the meeting, President Vahagn Khachaturyan addressed the overall situation in the South Caucasus region and its effect on the economic life of the countries in the region.
Answering the questions of the attendees in a frank atmosphere, the President introduced the details on the peculiarities of Armenia's energy security, nuclear power plant operation and energy resources.
In the course of the discussion, ideas were exchanged on the challenges and perspectives of Armenia's relations with countries that have interest in the region as well as Armenia's engagement in communication channels of macroeconomic importance.
Toward the end of the meeting, the President expressed his hope to meet the businessmen again before long, this time in Armenia and discuss substantive projects. Furthermore, the President expressed his willingness to support their investment initiatives to the best of his ability.
