President Serzh Sarkissian sent a message of condolences to the President of Kyrgyzstan Kumanbek Bakiev connected with the death of world-famous writer Chingiz Aytmatov.
The message states:
“Immeasurable is the loss your people and culture suffered because of the death of renowned writer Chingiz Aytmatov.
Saying Kyrgyz culture, many in the world first of all understand Chingiz Aytmatov, a writer, in whose works the most contemporary issues of life are combined with the traditional ones. His creative literacy belongs not only to the present, but also the history and the next generations of readers.
Aytmatov’s works are well known and highly appreciated in Armenia, almost all of his works are translated into Armenian.
On behalf of the people of Armenia I extend condolences to the Aytmatov family and the whole Kyrgyz people.”
