President Vahagn Khachaturyan's congratulation address on the Television Worker’s Day
Dear workers of the Armenian Television,
I extend my heartfelt congratulation to you on the Television Worker’s Day. The launch of public television on November 29, 1956 was a turning event in the life of the Armenian society to keep up with the changes of the modern world. Television was opening up new horizons across the globe for all art, journalism, politics and newly emerging fields of social development.
For about 7 decades, Armenian television has gone through a difficult journey of establishment, overcoming many ordeals, censorship, ideological restraints and bureaucratic compulsions, and as a result of all this, currently our television has fully achieved its most essential quality: freedom of speech and rejection of censorship.
The list of achievements and victories of Armenian television is very long, and today we must appreciate and pay tribute to the workers of television of all times, all those who stood at the foundation of these achievements and evolution.
Dear workers of the Armenian Television,
Once again, I congratulate you and wish you further professional success, sound health and personal happiness.
