Address by President Serzh Sargsyan to participants of 12th Symposium of CIS Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia

Dear Friends,

I warmly welcome all the participants of the 12th Symposium of Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia of CIS-member States.

The Symposium is a significant platform for addressing key issues of humanitarian and cultural cooperation between our countries. It is gratifying that this event is dedicated to the role of humanitarian cooperation in such an important matter as the strengthening of family values and traditions in the CIS countries.

We are very well aware of family’s pivotal role in the cultural, spiritual-moral, social, personal and intellectual development of future generations, since the preservation of family traditions is the pledge for our countries’ sustainable development and intercultural exchange within the CIS.

It is emblematic that the Armenian city of Goris, which boasts rich cultural heritage, was chosen to serve as the cultural capital of the Commonwealth in the CIS Culture Year.

I would like to invite all CIS countries to take part in the cultural events due to be held next year in the CIS cultural capital.
