President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received Henrik Thorsøe Pedersen, President of Tennis Europe (the European Tennis Federation), and Vardan Zakaryan, President of the Tennis Federation of Armenia.
Welcoming the guests, President Khachaturyan expressed his gratitude to Henrik Thorsøe Pedersen for his continued support of the Tennis Federation of Armenia and for the development of tennis in Armenia. The President highlighted the cooperation between Tennis Europe and the Tennis Federation of Armenia, emphasizing that it contributes to the growth and promotion of tennis in the country, particularly by increasing interest in the sport among children and young people.
President Khachaturyan noted that the Government of Armenia places great importance on the development of sports and the expansion of youth participation in sports. To this end, the state is taking consistent steps to improve sports infrastructure through the construction and modernization of gyms and sports complexes in schools and other educational institutions.
Henrik Thorsøe Pedersen thanked the President for the reception and stated that he was pleased to be visiting Armenia once again. He highly praised the efforts made in recent years to develop tennis in the country and was particularly impressed by the improvements carried out at the Tsaghkadzor Tennis Complex. According to him, the fact that the complex is already hosting international tournaments is an important prerequisite for the further development of the sport and for increasing public interest in tennis.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the prospects for the development of tennis in Armenia, the expansion of international cooperation, and the creation of more favorable conditions for young athletes.
