President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan participated in the international forum of heads of State and Government in Ashgabat titled "Interrelation of Times and Civilizations – Basis of Peace and Development," dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi, and delivered a speech.

"It is a great honor for me to participate in this high-level international forum organized to commemorate the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi, the pride of the Turkmen people, the outstanding poet and thinker, the founder of classical Turkmen literature.

His unprecedented contribution has left an indelible mark on the cultural and intellectual heritage of the region, especially in the literary and national identity of Turkmenistan, and continues to inspire generations in different parts of the world.

Indeed, there are people who, with their deep essence and devotion, merge so much with the cultural DNA of their people that they themselves become an integral part of the country's civilizational code. And Magtymguly Fragi, of course, is one of those cultural enrichers who are born once in an era.

Magtymguly's poetry is a vivid testimony to the challenges, bold ambitions and enduring victories that define the historical and cultural history of the Turkmen people. The messages of Magtymguly Fragi, a supporter of universal values and a humanist, remain relevant to this day.

Armenians are well acquainted with his works, which gives us the opportunity to notice many nuanced parallels between his literary contributions and the rich tapestry of the history of Armenian literature.

It is appropriate to mention the rich and exquisite literary heritage of Sayat-Nova, whose musical and poetic heritage serves as a cultural beacon for the Armenian-speaking world, just as the works of Magtymguly for the Turkmen people.

Although both poets delve into universal themes such as love and loss, devotion and identity, they profoundly illuminate the richness and diversity of human experience.

Magtymguly expanded the concept of national literature, emphasizing the humanism that unites us all. He touched on various aspects of human experience, while emphasizing the common features that unite us.

In this sense, this memorable event can also be seen as a key effort to re-evaluate classical literature in order to establish meaningful ties between nations, develop mutual respect and promote a deep understanding of the imperative of integrating national literature into a wider range of world heritage.

Another thing I would like to point out is that Magtymguly was able to demonstrate the gifts of his deep philosophical thoughts by presenting them in his own way. Reading the poems of Magtymguly, you can feel the "shade and coolness of the Turkmen gardens."

Magtymguly Fragi's poetry is pacifistic by nature, and in his works, he addresses the message of peace to all peoples of the world. Magtymguly's poetry is best described in his own words: "Brighter than the Sun and purer than the Moon." It is especially interesting that Magtymguly reminds his readers: "Blessed is the benefactor, for good deeds spread throughout the world." Here we see that the author connects the welfare of society with the welfare of each individual soul.

Humanity must listen and heed this message, which has been resonating from the depths of the ages more than ever, as we face unprecedented challenges, new threats and challenges on a global scale.

It was a special pleasure for me to announce that the Armenian translation of selected works by Magtymguly Fragi will be presented in the capital of Turkmenistan tomorrow.
