Newly appointed Apostolic Nuncio of the Holy See Ante Jozić presented his credentials to the President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan.
The President congratulated Ante Jozić on his appointment as Apostolic Nuncio to Armenia and wished fruitful work aimed at further development of bilateral relations and the agenda.
"I am confident that Your appointment will be an additional incentive for the development of our relations. Our close relations are based not only on the Christian value system, but also on common historical and spiritual heritage, as well as common approaches to the challenges facing the modern world," said the President of the Republic.
The newly appointed Apostolic Nuncio of the Holy See thanked for the welcome. "Let me convey to You the warm greetings of His Holiness Pope Francis, who has delegated me to serve in this country and to be closer to You, Your government and the Armenian people," said Ante Jozić.
During the meeting, issues related to strengthening relations between Armenia and the Vatican were discussed.
The sides exchanged views on regional realities and developments. In this context, the sides emphasized the imperative of establishing a stable and lasting peace. In his speech, the President of the Republic drew the attention of the Nuncio of the Holy See to the issue of preservation and protection of the Christian and historical-cultural heritage of Nagorno-Karabakh.
