President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received William Bill Poucher, the head of the ICPC Foundation

President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received a delegation headed by William Bill Poucher, Head of the International Collegiate Programming Contest Foundation (ICPC).

The President highly appreciated the activities of ICPC, which promotes the development of students in the field of programming, the identification of talents.

"Armenia has declared the IT sector a priority in order to turn our country into a technological country. We use every opportunity to really make this industry the locomotive of our economy. Statistical data over the past four years prove that achieving our goal is becoming a reality," the President noted.

The sides exchanged views on deepening cooperation between Armenia and the ICPC Foundation. In his speech, the President of the Republic stressed that in recent years Armenia has accumulated quite a lot of experience in organizing international events of various levels and is fully ready to host an important sectoral Olympiad in our country if needed.

During the meeting, current developments in the field of high technology and the current general situation were touched upon.
