President Vahagn Khachaturyan receives the President of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences Julian Revalski
President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan received the President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Bulgaria Julian Revalski.
In his welcome remarks, the President highly valued the role of academic science in the life of the state, and specifically noted, "The National Academy of Sciences of Armenia has played an enormous role in our life, and in the economic development of our country. The role of the Academy was significant in the success achieved in Armenia, especially in terms of having a high-tech-based economy, even in the Soviet period.
We have clearly understood that Armenia has no future without science and education. We lack material resources, and mineral resources, therefore our resource is science and people."
Thanking for the reception, Yulian Revalski noted: "It is a great privilege for us to be hosted by you. Speaking about our Academy, I must repeat the most important part of your opening speech almost identically, but we as an academy are older and next year we will celebrate the 155th anniversary of the foundation of our Academy."
During the meeting, the sides discussed issues regarding the pathways to exercise the existing potential of contacts between the Armenian and Bulgarian Academies of Sciences. The interlocutors touched upon the expansion of joint programs in the fields of academic and higher education and the prospects of implementing student exchange programs.
Both sides emphasized the importance of establishing and strengthening ties between the academic communities in the two countries.
