President Vahagn Khachaturyan receives the representative of the European Organization for Nuclear Research, Christoph Schäfer
President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Senior Advisor to the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) Christoph Schäfer.
The President welcomed the guest and attached importance to the close cooperation between Armenian scientific circles and high-ranking international organizations.
"The leadership of Armenia has adopted a policy of promoting the development of science and scientific and technical advancement particularly in the field of physics and natural sciences. From this perspective, the effective contacts between the European Organization for Nuclear Research and our scientific research centers are highly valued," the President noted.
Christoph Schäfer expressed his gratitude for the reception and emphasized that there is a tradition of close cooperation between CERN and the Yerevan Institute of Physics.
During the meeting, the sides touched upon the thirty years of effective cooperation between Armenia and CERN, the prospects of expanding and deepening it, including the promotion of direct partnership with CERN and the opportunities for training Armenian professionals at the Center.
The President highlighted his readiness to support to the best of his ability the exercise of the potential of contacts between the Institute of Physics and the international organization in the field of physics and natural sciences.
