President Vahagn Khachaturyan received the special envoy of the President of the Republic of Korea Jang Sung-min

The President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan received the special envoy of the President of the Republic of Korea Jang Sung-min.

Welcoming the guest, President Khachaturyan noted, "Diplomatic relations between Armenia and Korea were established back in 1992 and continue to develop. I am convinced that this meeting of ours will contribute to the further development of relations between our states."

Expressing gratitude for the reception, Jang Sung-min noted, "Mr. President, it is a privilege for me to meet you. I always wanted to visit Armenia. It is a great honor for me to visit this marvelous country, I believe Armenia and Korea have many civilizational, cultural commonalities and great potential for close cooperation to be exercised through joint efforts."

During the meeting, the sides discussed a wide range of issues related to Armenian-Korean cooperation. The great potential of the development of cooperation between the two countries in the field of culture, education and high technologies and the importance of its full exercise were particularly emphasized.

In his speech, the President of the Republic of Armenia addressed the close cooperation between the Parliaments of Armenia and Korea attaching importance to the exchange of best practices between the two countries in the establishment of democratic institutions and high-level political dialogue. In this regard, the sides touched upon a number of issues related to opening embassies in both countries as well as the possibility of visa liberalization for Armenian citizens by the Republic of Korea.

During the discussion, the sides also touched upon the possibility and prospects of Armenian-Korean cooperation in the construction of a nuclear power plant.

Concluding the meeting, both sides highlighted the willingness to expand and enhance the existing political and economic cooperation between Armenia and Korea.
