The newly appointed Ambassador of Mexico to Armenia Eduardo Villegas Megías presented his credentials to President Vahagn Khachaturyan
The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Mexican States Eduardo Villegas Megías (residence in Moscow) presented his credentials to President Vahagn Khachaturyan.
Welcoming the Ambassador, the President congratulated him on his appointment and wished him fruitful work during his diplomatic service.
The newly appointed Ambassador expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and noted that during his diplomatic mission, he will make efforts to bring Armenian-Mexican relations closer.
During the meeting, the sides discussed all the fields having prospects for cooperation and the existing potential. Both sides emphasized the importance of having diplomatic missions in both countries from the viewpoint of promoting friendly, economic relations.
The sides also touched upon regional problems and Armenia’s position regarding their solution. President Vahagn Khachaturyan highlighted Armenia's unequivocal approach to the establishment of sustainable and everlasting peace in the South Caucasus.
In his speech, Ambassador Megías emphasized his and the Mexican side’s readiness to contribute to the process of establishment of peace in the region.
The sides also exchanged thoughts on the potential of implementing educational, scientific, joint university and scientific programs, as well as promoting business circle contacts between Armenia and Mexico. They attached importance to active inter-parliamentary diplomacy and the possibilities of high-level political dialogue and mutual visits.
