President Vahagn Khachaturyan received a French traveler, journalist and writer Sylvain Tesson and the assistant director of “LE FIGARO MAGAZINE” periodical Jean-Christophe Buisson.
Welcoming the guests, President Khachaturyan particularly said: “I am glad to see you in Yerevan, you are always desired guests for us. It’s always a pleasure to see friends. I am sure that many know you in Armenia, are familiar with your activities, especially with the big role you played in presenting the truth during the 44-day war in Artsakh. Over the past 30 years, during the wars, there has always been one problem – presenting the truth. Oftentimes, we failed to share what we wanted with the world and people, especially in the beginning of the Karabakh movement, but later, it became a little easier. We already had you, those who were before you in the 90s, our colleagues, who gave us the opportunity to present the reality impartially."
During the meeting, the guests expressed their interest in the negotiations in the four-sided meeting held in Prague, the expectations of President Vahagn Khachatryan and Armenia, and the existing impediments and opportunities related to the deployment of the international observation group. President Khachaturyan presented details on the Azerbaijani aggression of September 13 and highlighted that such missions are a unique mechanism for preventing military escalations.
At the end of the meeting, President Vahagn Khachaturyan awarded Sylvain Tesson and Jean-Christophe Buisson with the Medal of Gratitude of the Republic of Armenia.
