President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received the delegation led by Tim Loughton, Head of Great Britain-Armenia Friendship Group of the UK Parliament. Welcoming the delegation's visit to Armenia, President Khachaturyan noted that it takes place at a time when the situation in our region remains tense. The President stressed that the international partners, and each of us must play a role and contribute to the establishment of lasting peace in the region.
"We do not see the future of our country and the region, without the establishment of peace. If we do not have a peaceful region, then all our programs become meaningless," said President Khachaturyan. The President stressed the importance of protecting the fundamental rights of the people of Artsakh.
Tim Loughton thanked for the reception and congratulated Vahagn Khachaturyan on assuming office. The Head of the Great Britain-Armenia Friendship Group noted that the Armenian-British relations have a great potential for development, particularly in the field of information technologies.
The sides exchanged views on the issues of deepening Armenian-British bilateral relations and regional security.
