President Armen Sarkissian awarded the famous opera singer Hasmik Grigoryan with a medal
By the decree of the President of the Republic, Hasmik Grigoryan, soloist of the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre, was awarded the Movses Khorenatsi Medal for her contribution to the development of culture. Today, President Armen Sarkissian presented the state award to the world-famous soprano, who visited Armenia these days.
Hasmik Grigoryan, the daughter of two famous opera singers, People's Artist of the Republic of Armenia Gegham Grigoryan and famous Lithuanian soprano Irena Milkevičiūtė, performs on the best stages of the world. She has given concerts in the homeland at the Alexander Spendiaryan National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre. By the way, besides surmounting the peak of cultural Everest, the singer has recently successfully climbed Mount Ararat.
President Sarkissian congratulated the famous singer and wished her new creative achievements, noting that they are proud of her success and always happy to host her in the homeland. The singer mentioned that she sings on many stages of the world, but it is a special honour for her to perform at the Armenian Opera House, where her father worked.
