President Sarkissian hosted the Secretary-General of the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie

President Armen Sarkissian hosted today the Secretary-General of the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie Michaëlle Jean and her delegation.

Welcoming the guest, the President noted that Armenia attaches importance to the role of the Organization as a platform for cooperation and dialogue. He said that Armenia is glad to host the 17th Summit of the Organization. President Sarkissian underscored that the leadership of Armenia is determined to organize the Summit at the highest level and assured that Armenia will fulfill the commitment with honor.

The parties spoke also about the economic forum to be held in the framework of the Summit of the International Organization of Francophonie.

President Sarkissian expressed hope that it will become a traditional event and noted Armenia might become a bridge between the North and the South, the West and the East, not only a geographical, cultural crossroads but also a crossroads for economic ties, high technologies, opening new opportunities for foreign entrepreneurs and investors.
