President Sarkissian hosted the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan

Today, at the Presidential Palace President Armen Sarkissian hosted the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan H.E. Mr. Taro Kono and his delegation.

The President welcomed the first visit to Armenia conducted at the ministerial level and expressed confidence that it will boost the bilateral relations. According to President Sarkissian, last year the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Japan was commemorated which presents a good opportunity to summarized a quarter of the century-long cooperation and opens areas and prospects for deepening cooperation between the two friendly nations.

The parties spoke also about the areas which hold a great potential for the mutually beneficial cooperation and are able to enrich the bilateral agenda. They stressed, in particular, the importance of cooperation in the banking and IT areas, cultural exchanges, implementation of the programs in the scientific and educational fields.
