President Serzh Sargsyan participated in the events dedicated to the 24th anniversary of the proclamation of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic

 

RA President Serzh Sargsyan together with NKR President Bako Sahakyan, delegation of Armenia arrived in Artsakh to participate in the 24th anniversary of the proclamation of the Artsakh Republic, Armenians from Artsakh and foreign guest marched solemnly from the Renaissance Square to the Stepanakert Memorial.

Serzh Sargsyan paid tribute to the memory of Armenians who sacrificed themselves for the independence of Artsakh. He laid down a wreath on the tombs of Artur Mkrtchyan and martyrs of Artsakh liberation war.

Within the framework of festive events, President Serzh Sargsyan together with NKR President Bako Sahakyan participated in the opening ceremony of the new branch of the Agricultural University of Armenia in Shushi.

The branch was founded according to the decisions of the RA and NKR governments from August 2008, on the basis of the Agricultural Department of the Artsakh State University and State Agricultural College of Stepanakert.

It has been functioning from February, 2009 in Stepanakert. There were 860 students studying at master and bachelor programs of the branch and 80 professors lecturing at first. According to the executives, today the branch has 1500 students and over 100 lecturers.

During last 6 years the branch had 1690 graduates: 573 of them with bachelor’s degree, 138 with master degree and 980 with vocational certificate of education.

Afterwards, presidents of the two Armenian states visited the Yeznik Mozyan Vocational School in Shushi founded with the sponsorship of the French affiliate of “Hayastan” All-Armenian fund and co-financing of the NKR government. The three-storey study center is designed for 225 students, encompasses 4050 square kilometers, is duly equipped for both general subjects and crafts, including well-equipped laboratory and studio facilities.

Serzh Sargsyan and Bako Sahakyan attended the opening ceremony of TUMO & AGBU Center for Creative Technologies.

It became possible to open TUMO center in the capital of NKR due to the cooperation of “Simonyan” Educational Foundation and Armenian General Benevolent Union.

During the tour in the center the presidents got familiarized with the building conditions and curriculum. According to the executives, the program has capacity of 500 students who will get chance to acquire valuable skills in four major fields of the center: animation, web development, filmmaking and game development. Also, they will acquire such 21st century skills, as 3D modeling, robotics, photography, graphic design, etc.
