Ат the invitation of President Serzh Sargsyan, the President of France Nicolas Sarkozy arrived to Armenia on a state visit
Today, at the invitation of President Serzh Sargsyan, the President of France Nicolas Sarkozy arrived to Armenia on a state visit.
At the Zvartnots international airport there took place the official ceremony of welcoming the President of France after which the Presidents of Armenia and France left for Holy See Saint Echmiadzin, where they met with His Holiness Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II and visited the Main Cathedral.
From Echmiadzin, Serzh Sargsyan and Nicolas Sarkozy arrived at the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial. The Presidents laid a wreath at the Memorial dedicated to the victims of the Armenian Genocide, visited the Genocide Museum. After touring the Museum, the President of France made an inscription in the Guest Book: “France will not forget,” the President of France wrote. In the Memory Alley of the Memorial, the Presidents of Armenia and France planted a tree, next to the stele commemorating the law adopted in 2001 on the recognition by France of the Armenian Genocide.
Tonight, President Serzh Sargsyan will host a state dinner in honor of the President of France Nicolas Sarkozy, who has arrived to Armenia on a state visit.
