President Serzh Sargsyan received delegation headed by the Minister of Finance of the State of Kuwait, Co-chair of the Armenian-Kuwaiti intergovernmental commission Mustafa Jassem Al-Shamali
Today, President Serzh Sargsyan received delegation headed by the Minister of Finance of the State of Kuwait, Co-chair of the Armenian-Kuwaiti intergovernmental commission Mustafa Jassem Al-Shamali.
Welcoming delegation’s visit to Armenia, President Sargsyan stressed the importance of the fact that it is taking place particularly when the Armenian-Kuwaiti intergovernmental commission is in session. He said that work in the framework of the commission proves to be efficient for the development of bilateral relations and expansion of cooperation.
The Minister of Finance of Kuwait noted that his country is interested in investing in different areas of friendly Armenia’s economy and on bilateral level, as well as in the framework of the intergovernmental commission those possibilities have been discussed thoroughly. “We have seen that there is a lot of foreign investments in Armenia, and it is inspiring. We are confident that Armenia’s economic strategy is on the right track, and we are determined to strengthen our bilateral relations by expanding economic cooperation,” Minister Mustafa Jassem Al-Shamali said.
Among perspective areas for cooperation mentioned were especially agriculture, infrastructure, tourism, energy, health care and others. The parties stressed the importance of the signed agreement between the governments of Armenia and Kuwait on air transportation, which will create new opportunities to increase the turnover between our two countries. From the viewpoint of further strengthening bilateral relations, the parties underscored the decision of the government of Kuwait to open embassy in Armenia, noting that together with the Embassy of Armenia in Kuwait establishment over a year ago, the diplomatic representation of Kuwait in Armenia will considerably contribute to the establishment of closer relations between the two countries.
President Serzh Sargsyan noted that since independence Armenia has been efficiently developing interstate relations with Arab world, including the Persian Gulf states, which is based on the centuries-long friendship of the Armenian and Arab peoples.
