President Serzh Sargsyan received Tomasz Poreba, a member of the European Parliament
Today, President Serzh Sargsyan received Tomasz Poreba, a member of the European Parliament and Rapporteur for Armenia.
The President of Armenia welcomed Mr. Poreba’s visit to Yerevan and Stepanakert prior to the completion of the Report, which according to President Sargsyan is extremely important from the viewpoint of seeing and assessing the situation on the ground first hand, for making direct contacts and gathering information.
“Every assessment, every approach is ultimately aimed at helping the given country, given region, at providing assistance in solving existing problems and implementation of the reforms. I am confident that your Report will be exactly like that,” President Sargsyan said.
The Rapporteur for Armenia noted that it would be impossible to prepare a comprehensive and unbiased report without visiting the given country. He also stressed the importance of visiting Nagorno Karabakh, since it has a significant role in the regional issues.
“I have obtained important information, have observed and felt the situation. Along with incorporating all this information into the report, I will also impart this information to my colleagues at the European Parliament,” Tomasz Poreba said. The parties discussed also issues pertinent to the enhancement of cooperation between Armenia and European structures.
