President Serzh Sargsyan attended the swearing in ceremony of the Mayor elect of Yerevan
Today, President Serzh Sargsyan attended the swearing in ceremony of the Mayor elect of Yerevan Karen Karapetian which took place at the sitting of the City Council.
President Serzh Sargsyan congratulated Karen Karapetian and wished him vigor, resolve and success.
In his remarks the President of Armenia said,
“Your Holiness,
Mr. Karapetian,
Distinguished Members of the City Council,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I congratulate us all on the election of new Mayor of Yerevan. I wish him vigor, resolve and success.
Mr. Karapetian is known as an excellent manager, who enjoys respect in Yerevan, also as a person of high moral standards. Mr. Karapetian, I wish you to rise to our expectations and justify hopes of all those who desire to see on high managerial positions persons like you. My expectations are related first of all to your business conduct. On December 18, at the event dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the RPA we spoke about the style and conduct that state officials should adopt. I truly hope that from the very first days of your tenure in office it will become clear that you are determined to meet these requirements. I don’t believe others words would be necessary at this point. I believe, months later we will see the results and pose questions such as: Are we able to meet the standards, or are we just setting the bar higher each time? If we are ready to meet our own requirements, we are able to move our country forward.
Congratulations once again, and thank you.”
