President Serzh Sargsyan received today the delegation headed by the Mayor of Montreal Gérald Tremblay.
The President of Armenia welcomed the guests and stressed the importance of the delegation’s visit to our country in the context of deepening relations between Armenia and Canada.
“We highly appreciate the existing level of the Armenian-Canadian relations and are deeply interested in cooperation and further development of these relations. Canada’s achievement in the global economy are noticeable and Armenia sees great potential of cooperation with your country in different areas,” noted President Sargsyan.
Serzh Sargsyan expressed gratitude to the successive administrations of Montreal for their consideration and attention toward the Armenian community of the city.
The Mayor of Montreal praised the role of the Armenian community in strengthening relations not only between Yerevan and Montreal but also between the two countries and expressed readiness to continue to work jointly with the Armenian-Canadian community for the expansion of cooperation in different areas.
The two sides highlighted the importance of holding the 31st Conference of francophone cities in 2011 in Yerevan.
