President Sargyan received the Speaker of the Parliament of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ali Larijani
Today, President Serzh Sargyan received the Speaker of the Parliament of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ali Larijani and his delegation.
Welcoming the guest, the President of Armenia expressed confidence that visit of the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament would serve as an impetus for the strengthening of friendly relations between the two countries. “Our people view your country, your people as a long-time friend, a reliable and close partner. I am glad that today our relations are on a good level. We attach importance to high-level dialogue between the leaders of our two countries and to high-level visits,” the President of Armenia said.
Ali Larijani noted that relations between Armenia and Iran could become a good base for the enforcement of stability in the region.
The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament underscored the importance of North-South corridor as a new transit route which could be cost-effective for all participants.
The two sides stressed the importance of implementation of strategic projects such as Armenia-Iran railroad, joint construction of a hydropower station on Araks river, second Iran-Armenia high voltage transmission line, and construction of the oil pipeline.
The parties noted with satisfaction that efficient cooperation of the legislatures of the two countries have had their input in the formation of warm relations between Armenia and Iran.
