President Serzh Sargsyan received the Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan
Today, President Serzh Sargsyan received the Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan, Co-Chair of the Armenian-Turkmen intergovernmental commission on cooperation Khidir Saparliev, who has arrived to Armenia to participate at the second session of the intergovernmental commission.
President Sargsyan noted that Armenia is interested in deepening trade and economic relations with Turkmenistan and expressed hope that the intergovernmental commission would move the mutually beneficial cooperation of the two states forward. The President of Armenia stressed the importance of the fact that previously Mr. Saparliev was Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Armenia. According to Serzh Sargsyan, familiarity with the partner state is a positive factor for the efficient organization of the commission’s works.
President Sargsyan expressed confidence that based on the traditionally friendly relations between Armenia and Turkmenistan all necessary would be done to further develop bilateral cooperation.
The Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan conveyed to the President Sargsyan greetings of President Gurbanguli Berdimukhamedov. Khidir Saparliev assessed the works of the commission’s Yerevan session as productive and said that the commission has undertaken concrete steps aimed at the development of cooperation in the economic, cultural, scientific, educational, and humanitarian areas.
The parties also mentioned the importance of the existing mutual trust between the Presidents of the two countries in moving bilateral relations forward. They underlined that Armenia and Turkmenistan have no political disagreements which provides excellent base for the establishment of mutually beneficial relations and cooperation.
The President of Armenia conveyed to the President of Turkmenistan warm greetings and invitation to visit Armenia.
