On the occasion of Army Day, President Serzh Sargsyan decorated a group of military men with state awards
On the occasion of Army Day and for their considerable contribution to the promotion of combat readiness of the Army, courage and dedication in protecting borders of Motherland, by the January 25 decree of President Serzh Sargsyan a group of servicemen of the Ministry of Defense and freedom fighters were decorated with state awards.
By another decree of the President of Armenia, First Deputy Chief Military Inspector of the President of RA, Major General Leonid Martirosov was awarded military rank of Lieutenant General, and the Head of the Operative Department of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Colonel Artak Davtian was awarded military rank of Major General.
Today, the official ceremony on handing the awards took place at the Presidential Palace.
Congratulating the awardees with the Army Day and with receiving state awards and military ranks, President Sargsyan said, “With these awards the people and Government of Armenia show their appreciation for those individuals, who serve the Republic of Armenia with dedication, who changed their lives into a sacred mission to defend and protect peace.
Today, you are getting these awards for your success, and your success makes our country stronger – practically, spiritually, and politically.
I wish you all the best, peaceful and normal work and, certainly, further enforcement of the combat readiness of the Armenian Army, which also depends on the quality and quantity of your day-by-day activities.”
