President Serzh Sargsyan received the UN Resident Coordinator in Armenia Ms. Consuelo Vidal
Today, President Serzh Sargsyan received the UN Resident Coordinator in Armenia, Permanent Representative of the UN Development Program, Ms. Consuelo Vidal, who is concluding her mission in Armenia.
The President of Armenia expressed gratitude to Ms. Vidal for her activities during the last four years and assistance to the programs aimed at Armenia’s development. Serzh Sargsyan said that “This is not about financial resources only: experience, involvement, and opportunities to make comparisons are much more important.”
In her turn, Ms. Vidal expressed gratitude for the excellent UNDP-Armenia cooperation. She said that she was leaving with wonderful impressions and would remain Armenia’s friend.
The parties exchanged also views on proportioned development of Armenia’s regions and discussed issues related to the census to be conducted in 2010. The UN Resident Coordinator noted that even though the global financial and economic crisis has had a powerful impact, the social programs however, have not been altered.
