The newly appointed Ambassador of Spain to Armenia presented his credentials to President Serzh Sargsyan
Today the newly appointed Ambassador of Spain to Armenia Juan Antonio Mark Pujol (residence in Moscow) presented his credentials to President Serzh Sargsyan.
The President of Armenia congratulated the Ambassador on his nomination and expressed hope that during his tenure he would make a considerable contribution to the development of bilateral cooperation in different areas.
“Armenia and Spain share the same value system, have rich cultural history, which creates excellent conditions for cooperation,” President Sargsyan said.
According to Ambassador Pujol, his country strives to raise its relations with Armenia on a level which will correspond to constantly changing requirements of the globalizing world.
The parties exchanged views on the possible areas of cooperation, stressed the importance of energizing economic and trade relations and creation of a necessary legal field. Among promising areas Ambassador Pujol mentioned cooperation between universities which could become a spiritual bridge between young people.
The President of Armenia and the Spanish Ambassador spoke also about the Armenia-EU relations and possibilities of cooperation in that framework. The Ambassador said that next year Spain would assume the EU presidency and was intended to undertake serious steps towards developing and deepening relations.
