President Serzh Sargsyan received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Grigol Vashadze
Today, President Serzh Sargsyan received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Grigol Vashadze who is in our country on a working visit.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia conveyed to the President of Armenia warm greetings from the President of Georgia Mikhail Sahakashvili and his invitation to visit Georgia. President Sargsyan and Grigol Vashadze reiterated the high level of interstate relations between Armenia and Georgia and centuries- long strong friendship of the two nations. According to them, there are no problems between our two states that cannot be solved through discussions and a dialogue.
The two sides discussed issues of the bilateral agenda, spoke about the tariffs for transit via the territory of Georgia, demarcation of the Armenian-Georgian border, and the issues to be discussed at the upcoming session of the intergovernmental commission.
The parties spoke also about the problems of the Armenian community of Georgia and the avenues to solve them. Grigol Vashadze said that his country was listening respectfully and carefully to all ideas expressed with this regard and was ready to discuss them most seriously.
The President of Armenia and Foreign Minister of Georgia exchanged also views on the regional issues and recent developments in the Armenian-Turkish dialogue. Presenting the position of the Georgian side, Grigol Vashadze said that open borders and normal relations would be conducive to the region’s development and the improvement of investment climate.
The two sides discussed also anti-crisis steps undertaken in the two countries.
