President Serzh Sargsyan received the world famous singer Charles Aznavour
Today, President Serzh Sargsyan received the world famous singer, well-known public figure, National Hero of Armenia, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Armenia at the UN Offices in Geneva and other international organizations, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Swiss Confederation, Charles Aznavour and his impresario Levon Sayan.
The President of Armenia affably welcomed Armenia’s great son and said that in presenting Armenia to the world and in making our country more recognizable Aznavour’s art and public activities were invaluable.
The President of Armenia also said that at the today’s working meeting of the Hayastan Fund it was reiterated that Armenia with the Diaspora and without it would be two different countries.
The great chansonnier said that it took him 21 years to visit the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh - he did it today, and was immensely impressed.
During the cordial and informal conversation, the President of Armenia and Charles Aznavour spoke about the life in Armenia.
Recently, the President of Armenia visited the house-museum of Charles Aznavour, which is being constructed in Yerevan, to observe first hand the work progress. The house-museum is to be opened in the fall of this year.
