President Serzh Sargsyan visited the Expo-2008 of Agricultural products
Today, President Serzh Sargsyan visited the Eighth International Expo-2008 of Agricultural products.
The President of Armenia spent over two hours at the exhibition, observed all the displays and familiarized with the goods.
Noting, that he had somewhat mixed feelings about the exhibition, the President of Armenia said, “Looking at our fruits and vegetables, at the quality of the processed products one would ask a question - why is there no world-wide demand for it? What should we do as a state so that our producers could sell their goods all over the world?”
According to the President, the state and the manufacturer should always be at the farmers’ side, while during the retail period the state should assist the processing companies. “We should be able to create new brands – the Armenian cheese, processed food and assorted good should be recognized in the world just as well as the Armenian apricot and the Armenian brandy,’ Serzh Sargsyan said and promised that on this issue the businesses would definitely get state assistance.
