President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan participated at the annual meeting of the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Heads of the Armenian foreign representations and Consulates

Today President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan participated at the annual meeting of the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Heads of the Armenian foreign representations and Consulates.

In his speech the President of Armenia spoke about the main issues and tasks of the Armenian foreign policy.

Speaking about the current situation in the region and related necessary steps, Serzh Sargsyan said, “Needless to say that the recent events have had a negative impact on the economy of Armenia. We mentioned on more than one occasion that peace in our region is vital for the development of the Armenian economy. Once again blood was shed in our region, the situation has become very tense, and innocent people died.”

According to the President, for Armenia the current situation brings around at least three critical issues:

Resolution of the frozen conflicts
Transit routs
Increased tension in international relations

The President of Armenia spoke thoroughly about each of the mentioned issues and necessary actions.

Afterwards, President Sargsyan answered to the questions raised by the diplomats and provided clarifications.
