Today President Serzh Sarkissian received the Minister of Interior of the Russian Federation, Rashid Nurgaliev
Today President Serzh Sarkissian received the Minister of Interior of the Russian Federation, Rashid Nurgaliev. He arrived to Armenia to participate at the works of the Joint Council of the law enforcement bodies of the two states.
The President of Armenia noted with satisfaction the high level and stable development of the Armenian-Russian relations.
President Sarkissian welcomed close cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of Armenia and Russia, assessing it as one of the most components of bilateral relations. Serzh Sarkissian expressed confidence that fight against crime would be much more effective through the joint efforts.
The Russian Minister briefed the President of Armenia on the main topics discussed by the Council, noting that they are very urgent. In particular, mentioned was the issue of tracking down and arrest of the wanted individuals; it was also noted that on that direction cooperation yields positive results. The parties spoke also about the prevention of internal threats, interregional crimes and necessity of toughening the fight against different manifestations of crimes. The sides expressed confidence that cooperation would continue with the new Chief of Police of Armenia. Rashid Nurgaliev said that cooperation of law enforcement bodies becomes more and more substantial.
Serzh Sarkissian said that with the increasing number of challenges, the operative exchange of information and experience becomes an imperative.
