President Serzh Sarkissian received the Head of the Russian Federal Agency of Culture and Cinematography
Today President Serzh Sarkissian received the Head of the Russian Federal Agency of Culture and Cinematography Mikhail Shvydkoy.
Assessing the preservation and expansion of culture ties as one of the most important elements of the bilateral relations, President Sarkissian noted that the role of arts and culture has always been a significant factor adding to the friendship of the nations.
Serzh Sarkissian stressed the importance of a continued revitalization of the cultural ties, contacts between the art professionals, organization of high level and representative cultural events in our two countries.
The Head of the Russian Federal Agency of Culture and Cinematography, Mikhail Shvydkoy spoke about the vigorous and dynamically developing Armenian-Russian cultural ties and also noted that Armenia has been working actively at the CIS Council for Humanitarian issues. Mikhail Shvydkoy added that currently the Russian side is discussing with its Armenian colleagues the issue of organizing joint programs for the youth.
The two sides stressed the importance of the Memorandum on Cooperation for 2008 between the Ministry of Culture of Armenia and the Russian Federal Agency of Culture and Cinematography Mikhail to be signed today, as well as the opening in June 2008 of the Russian Art Season in Armenia, which will provide the Armenian public with a good opportunity to get familiarized with the Russian art.
