Working visit of the President Vahagn Khachaturyan to Chile

The President of the Republic, Vahagn Khachaturyan, met with Chile’s President-elect José Antonio Kast during his working visit to Chile.

The President of Chile welcomed the President of the Republic and thanked him for accepting the invitation and visiting Chile.

“Over the past decades, Chile has undergone fundamental changes. However, we continue to maintain institutional and friendly relations with our partners and are also interested in strengthening relations with Armenia and launching new initiatives in areas of mutual interest,” said José Antonio Kast.

President Khachaturyan expressed his gratitude for the hospitality and the invitation. “I sincerely congratulate You on being elected President and wish You success. You are assuming a very responsible position during a challenging period, where important issues must be addressed.

Armenia has great interest in deepening cooperation with Chile and the countries of South America, and in recent years has been taking active steps in that direction,” said the President.

During the meeting, the sides also referred to the general situation and developments in the South Caucasus region, in connection with which the President of the Republic provided his counterpart with details about the ongoing processes.

The interlocutors exchanged views on identifying new areas of cooperation and clarifying priority directions. In this context, special emphasis was placed on the significant potential for cooperation in the fields of artificial intelligence and information technologies, and the importance of fully realizing that potential, which could create a new and effective platform for both countries.

At the end of the meeting, President Vahagn Khachaturyan invited the President of Chile to visit Armenia.

During his working visit to the Republic of Chile, President Vahagn Khachaturyan attended an official reception hosted by the President of Chile, Gabriel Boric, in honor of the heads of delegations who had arrived in the country.

Within the framework of the ceremonial event, President Khachaturyan met with President Boric and also held private meetings with Felipe VI, King of Spain, as well as with the President of Uruguay, Yamandú Orsi, and other counterparts.

During the conversations, while addressing regional and global developments, Vahagn Khachaturyan invited his counterparts to visit Armenia to participate in the United Nations Biodiversity Conference (COP17).

The President of the Republic particularly emphasized the importance of consolidating the efforts of the international community in addressing global challenges.

The President of the Republic presented details about the current situation in Armenia and the region, as well as the reforms and developments taking place in the country.

During the meeting, the President answered questions from the attendees, addressing the priorities and challenges of Armenia’s domestic and foreign policy, and referred to the foundations for establishing peace and developing relations with neighboring countries.
