President Vahagn Khachaturyan’s official visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan

President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan is on an official visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Within the framework of the visit, the President will meet with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and other representatives of the country's top leadership.

President Vahagn Khachaturyan will also participate in the opening ceremony of the Armenian Culture Days in Kazakhstan.

President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan met with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev within the framework of his official visit to Kazakhstan.

Warmly welcoming the President of Armenia, the President of Kazakhstan noted that his country is interested in raising the Armenian-Kazakh relations to a qualitatively new level. "I am confident that today's agreements will help strengthen bilateral relations. We attach great importance to periodic high-level meetings, which serve as a solid foundation for the Kazakh-Armenian partnership. Kazakhstan highly values its friendly relations with Armenia. Kazakhstan has a warm attitude towards the Armenian people. For Kazakhstan, Armenia is a reliable and time-tested close partner. Our nations have tight bonds of friendship, a common history and similar cultural and humanitarian values. I am pleased to note the dynamic and progressive development of bilateral relations in all spheres," the President of Kazakhstan noted.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also noted that this year marks the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Armenia, and in this context, a solid institutional basis has been formed for bilateral relations. "In parallel with trade and economic cooperation between our nations, cultural and humanitarian ties are actively developing. Last year, the Days of the Kazakh Theater in Armenia were held in Yerevan. Next year, we are planning to organize Kazakh Culture Days in your country. Today we will officially launch an event dedicated to the Armenian Culture Days in Kazakhstan," the President of Kazakhstan said.

President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan expressed gratitude to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the warm welcome. "I would like to thank You for the invitation of paying an official visit to Kazakhstan and the warm, friendly welcome. This visit is undoubtedly another evidence of the effective development of cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Kazakhstan. And of course, I want to emphasize our successfully developing economic relations," the President of the Republic said.

Issues related to the agenda of further development of bilateral relations were discussed at the meeting. The importance of stimulating efforts to fully realize the existing potential of cooperation between the two countries was emphasized. In this context, President Khachaturyan stressed the importance of the official visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Armenia and the official visit of the President of Armenia to Kazakhstan after an almost 20-year hiatus.

The Presidents exchanged views on regional realities and the general situation. In this context, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stressed Kazakhstan's readiness, to provide a platform for promoting the peace agenda, and stressed Kazakhstan's support for the "Crossroads of Peace" project as well.

The interlocutors stressed the importance of further expanding cooperation in economic, cultural, educational, high-tech and other spheres.

The meeting of the Presidents of Armenia and Kazakhstan was followed by an extended meeting of the delegations of the two countries in the format of a working dinner.

Within the framework of his official visit to Kazakhstan, President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan met with Yerlan Koshanov, the Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan.

Welcoming the visit of the delegation headed by the President of the Republic to Kazakhstan, Yerlan Koshanov noted that Armenia is a close and friendly country and a reliable partner for them.

"With great interest we follow the large-scale reforms that are being carried out in Armenia. They are held in all major areas aimed at improving the quality of people’s life and the well-being of Armenians.

President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan, in turn, expressed gratitude for the warm and friendly welcome and noted that Armenia attaches great importance to the maximum effective use of the potential existing between the two countries. "We also attach great importance to the Armenian-Kazakh parliamentary cooperation, and we find it one of the key spheres in the wide range of our relations," President Khachaturyan said.

Issues and directions of the agenda for further development of cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries were discussed over the course of the meeting.

The sides stressed the importance of the activities of legislative bodies in the establishment of democratic institutions and the implementation of reforms.

The sides expressed their readiness to continue promoting initiatives aimed at further development of parliamentary diplomacy and the implementation of necessary steps in this direction, including the organization of mutual visits of friendship groups of parliaments and delegations.

Within the framework of the official visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, President Vahagn Khachaturyan and President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev attended the opening ceremony of the Armenian Culture Days in Kazakhstan at the Kazakh National Musical Drama Theater named after Kalibek Kuanyshbaev.

During the event, Zhanna Andreasyan, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia and Aida Balayeva, the Minister of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan, made welcoming speeches. The official opening of the event was followed by a cultural program.

President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan visited the Kazakhstan Academy of Public Administration within the framework of his official visit to Kazakhstan. The President welcomed the faculty and students of the Academy, then delivered a lecture on the general profile of Armenia, within which he also presented the "Crossroads of Peace" project.

President Vahagn Khachaturyan, who is on an official visit to Kazakhstan, visited the "Astana Hub" International IT Park.

Accompanied by Zhaslan Madiyev, Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the President toured the center and got acquainted with modern startups.

At the end of the tour, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the "Tumo" center and "Astana Hub".
