Working visit of President Armen Sarkissian to Georgia
The official delegation headed by President Armen Sarkissian arrived to Georgia to participate at the oath taking ceremony of the newly elected President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili. During his visit, the President of Armenia is to hold meetings with the highest leadership of Georgia and guests participating in the ceremony.

The delegation headed by the President of Armenia was present at the oath taking ceremony of the newly elected President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili which took place at the palace of Irakli II in Telavi town of Georgia.
Before the ceremony, President Armen Sarkissian, responding to the questions of journalists said in particular, “Armenia and Georgia, as well as our two nations, have millennia-long friendly and brotherly relations. We are truly brotherly nations. It’s more than natural that the President of Armenia is present here today when Georgia elected a new president.
I congratulate Georgia and the President of the country. I wish Georgia and the new President success for the coming years.
I am looking forward to working with the President of Georgia, the government and parliament of the country, and most importantly, with the people to further strengthen our relations.”
In the framework of the event, President Sarkissian had brief conversations with the heads of the delegations present at the ceremony and a group of guests.

President Armen Sarkissian participated at the dinner hosted by the President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili to honor the high-level delegations which have arrived to Georgia.

In the framework of his working visit to Georgia, President Armen Sarkissian in Tbilisi had a private meeting with the Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze.
Prime Minister Bakhtadze thanked the President of Armenia for participating in the inauguration of the President-elect of Georgia and underscored that it was a pleasure to host the Armenian President in Georgia.
President Armen Sarkissian noted that he too was honored to be in the neighboring and friendly Georgia at the juncture of these momentous events.
The President of Armenia and Prime Minister of Georgia exchanged views on the current agenda of the Armenian-Georgian relations and stressed the importance of enhancing an efficient cooperation in a number of areas. They spoke in particular about the development of the trade and economic relations, cooperation in the areas of education and culture.
