Working visit of the President Vahagn Khachaturyan to Armavir region

On July 11, President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan visited Armavir region.

Within the framework of the visit, the President visited the "Metsamor" historical-archeological reserve-museum, got acquainted with the museum's rare collection.

Accompanied by Artavazd Zakyan, the director of the reserve-museum, the President of the Republic toured the exhibition halls, got acquainted with the current programs and ongoing excavations and historical-archaeological research, and inquired about the problems of the reserve-museum and the work carried out towards their solution.

Then President Vahagn Khachaturyan visited Lernagog village and got acquainted with the construction of a new kindergarten and residential houses by the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund, for 12 families forcibly displaced from Nagorno Karabakh.

During the visit, the President of the Republic also visited the "Karas Wines" winery, got acquainted with the successes and general activities of the factory in recent years.

In the Armavir region, the President visited the intensive gardens of almond, founded by the "Vanand Agro" CJSC, got acquainted with the activities and upcoming projects of economic entities, existing problems and works carried out towards their solution as a result of cooperation between the private sector and local authorities.

During the visits, the President of the Republic stressed the positive impact of close cooperation between business and government bodies on the full realization of the economic potential of the entire region.

President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan summed up the results of his visit to Armavir region at a working meeting held in the Armavir regional administration.

During the meeting, Armavir Governor David Khudatyan presented to the President of the Republic summary data on schools and kindergartens construction carried out in the region in recent years, as well as a number of projects aimed at infrastructure development.

During the working meeting, issues related to drinking and irrigation water, road construction and other projects implemented through state subsidies in Armavir region were discussed. Reference was made to the steps of the higher and local authorities of the country in the direction of neutralizing the problems of the region that require both urgent and long-term solutions.

Over the course of the meeting, President Vahagn Khachaturyan presented to the audience details about the work carried out recently in the direction of increasing the country's defense capability.

The President of the Republic also inquired about the socio-economic, legal and general atmosphere prevailing in the region from the representatives of the relevant agencies.

During the meeting, the importance of efforts aimed at promoting increased citizen participation in identifying regional and community issues was highlighted.

Within the framework of his visit to Armavir region, President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan visited one of the military units of the Ministry of Defense in Armavir city.

Welcoming those present, the President of the Republic specifically said: "In ensuring the sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia, ensuring the security of the Republic of Armenia, and strengthening the defense capability, we are obliged to do everything so that those serving in the Armenian army feel strong, feel confident and convinced that the representatives of the country's authority have one idea, one program: to have a strong army. Only with a powerful army we can secure our sovereignty. We have bitter experiences and have drawn appropriate conclusions from it all.

It is very important how you live, how you are armed. Now we are also carrying out major reforms in the army. And it is also you who implement these reforms. We really need to be able to quickly reform everything, including our thinking, our fighting ability, our readiness. We need to reform quickly because today's modern army has a completely different content that we need to be ready for.

I want to thank all of you, both officers and soldiers, for the work you do, for the service you do. Be assured that today's government of the Republic of Armenia is doing everything so that we really have a ready, combat-ready army which will fully fulfill its duty and ensure the security of the Republic of Armenia.

The President handed in incentives to the military personnel who distinguished themselves with high combat training.

During the visit, the President of the Republic toured the military unit, got acquainted with the nutrition of military personnel, living conditions, leisure and educational process.
