President Serzh Sargsyan’s working visit to Vayots Dzor marz

 

Today, President conducted a working visit to Vayots Dzor marz. In Jermuk, the President of Armenia participated at the Third Conference of the Rural Communities which commenced on October 3, 2013. At the Conference discussed were issues pertinent to the most pressing issues of the local governance system and rural communities with the participation of all concerned parties – state and local governance bodies (LGB), representatives of local and international organizations which implement various programs in marzes, and experts.

At the Conference presented were relating reports after which there took place a discussion about administrative and territorial reformation aimed at the enhancement of efficient administration, expected outcome and existing problems. The President of Armenia underscored that reformation should primarily be assessed from the viewpoint of their expediency for the residents, improvement of their living conditions, implementation in the marzes of high quality educational, health care and other services. According to the President, the benefits of the administrative and territorial reformation should be noticeable to the population because the implementation of the reforms depends also on their good will.

Later, the President visited the construction site of the Jermuk Resort recreation facility, familiarized with the investment programs, ongoing works which are to be concluded in the end of 2014. President Sargsyan was also briefed on the implementation of Jermuk town development programs.
