President Serzh Sargsyan conducted a working visit to Aragatsotn marz
Today, President Serzh Sargsyan conducted a working visit to Aragatsotn marz. The President of Armenia participated at the inauguration of the Aparan Medical Center, familiarized with the conditions at the emergency, surgery and other departments, and quality of the services.
President Sargsyan was informed that as a result of the investments made in the Aparan Medical Center in the framework of the RA Government and World Bank’s “Modernization of the Health Care System” loan program, the two-story main building of the center has been totally renovated, including the roof, heating system, gas supply, water supply and warehouse of the ambulance and hospital units which comprise the main building. In the framework of the program, the hospital was furnished and equipped with modern devices.
It was also noted that in the framework of the program conducted were consultative and educational works. Overall investments made by the Government of Armenia and the World Bank into the Aparan Medical Center reach total of almost 1,214,602.1 AMD or 3,248.5 USD.
During his working visit to Aragatsotn, President Sargsyan visited also Aparan’s Cultural Center which is undergoing renovation. The renovation works of the three-story building were started in 2007. The Center will host a number of communal organizations such as Aparan Cultural Center, Museum of History, and Arts School. A special area will be allotted for the communal library. For the renovation works conducted in 2007-2011 almost 225.28 million AMD have been allocated from the state budget.
In the framework of his visit to Aragatsotn, Serzh Sargsyan visited also Armenia Wine Ltd plant. The President toured the premise, observed production facilities and learned about the development programs. President Sargsyan participated also at the ground-breaking ceremony of the plant’s cellar.
The President of Armenia was informed that construction works at the territory of the plant which occupies 5 ha, started in 2008. According to the business plan, construction works on the territory of the vineyard will be going on for the next seven years, including construction of the cognac blending and storage unit, a tourist center, including a hotel and restaurant compound, folk crafts workshops, and a wine museum. After conclusion of the works, Armenia Wine vineyard will imitate an old Armenian castle. Toward that end, all the buildings and structures are decorated with the traditional Armenian hand crafted architectural design.
It was also noted that Armenia Wine Company has a goal of restoring wine production traditions in Armenia. The wine producing units of the plant are equipped with the up-to-date devices and technological process are conducted in accordance with the European standards.
President Sargsyan wished success in the implementation of the programs aimed at the development of the plant.
