Today, President Serzh Sargsyan attended in Yerevan the ceremony of introducing SCADA - Supervisory control and data acquisition system - into the energy system of Armenia.

The Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Armen Movsissian presented to the President of Armenia capabilities of this system, which is going to play a very important role in the energy sphere of Armenia, as well as specially designed programs which will optimize energy production of the energy generating units, minimized losses, make precise estimates and calculations regarding the stability of the system.

The introduction of SCADA allows to improve the administration of the energy system, based on the data collected in real time as well as to raise the reliability of the energy system.

The entire project of data acquisition and supervisory control will be implemented in several stages. President Sargsyan familiarized also with the programs envisaged for the next stages. To carry out the first stage, the RA Government and Bank of Japan for International Cooperation (currently Japan International Cooperation Agency) signed a loan agreement.

Present at the launching of SCADA the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Armenia Masaharu Kono hailed the project as one of the best examples of the Armenian-Japanese friendship and cooperation and said that his country is ready to continue to assist Armenia in the initiatives aimed at the country’s economic development.
