Working visit of President Serzh Sargsyan to Syunik and Vayots Dzor marzes
On October 15, President Serzh Sargsyan, who is in Syunik marz on a working visit, participated at the groundbreaking ceremony of the apartment building to be built for the young families of the marz.
A multifunctional residential compound for the young families will be constructed in town of Kapan in the framework of the “Assistance to housing construction for young families” social program which is being realized under the patronage of the President of Armenia, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Graduates of Yerevan State University Serzh Sargsyan.
Apartments in the residential compound will be offered to the young families of Syunik marz with prices considerably lower than market prices. The compound comprises three units with 335 apartments.
In Kapan, the President of Armenian visited also the newly renovated Post Office located at the town’s square, familiarized with the services provided to the customers and was present at the ceremony of inauguration of PostBank Kapan 01 and Haypost Kapan branches of Converse Bank LLT.
The President of Armenia observed the renovated premise and post office with modern facilities. PostBank Kapan 01 will provide physical persons various services, while Kapan branch will provide physical as well as legal persons with the full package of services provided by Converse Bank. Concurrently, the Bank will open here a regional office which will support activities of the present and future branches of the Bank.
Later, the President of Armenia visited the administrative office of Syunik where he conducted a working meeting. The Head of marz Suren Khatchatrian presented the social and economic situation in the marz as of October 1, 2010 according to the works conducted in different areas and forthcoming programs.
After concluding the first day of his visit to Syunik marz, President Sargsyan left for Vayots Dzor, where he was briefed on the process of implementation of development program of Jermuk.
On October 16, the second day of his working visit to Syunik marz, President Serzh Sargsyan visited the newly constructed cardiology center in Goris. This medical facility will be providing immediate medical care to the patients from the southern regions of Armenia and the population of Nagorno Karabakh.
In Goris, the President of Armenia attended also festivities dedicated to the Town’s Day. The statue of Grigor of Tatev was unveiled in the framework of celebrations.
Today, President Sargsyan met also with over a hundred journalists and editors from Spyurk, who have arrived to Goris to meet with the President of Armenia. They came from the capital of the NKR Stepanavan, where they participated in the works of the 5th All-Armenian Journalists Conference.
From Goris, President of Armenia arrived to Halidzor where the “Tatev Renaissance” program was initiated. Here, the ceremony of inaugurating technical operations of the longest in the world airtram, which connects Halidzor and Tatev villages, took place. The airtram, which is stretching for 5.7km over the picturesque Vorotan gorge, opens new opportunities for the visitors of the monastery compound, making it more accessible. The program is aimed at the development of the areas neighboring Tatev, reestablishment of the celebrated and glorious spiritual, scientific and cultural traditions of this terrific ancient monastery compound. At the ceremony of inauguration of the airtram, the President of Armenia was accompanied by His Holiness Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II, the President of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic, representatives of social, political and cultural circles, officials, hundreds of guests from all over the world, many of whom are sponsors of the program. On the occasion of the inauguration of the airtram in Tatev, President Sargsyan made a statement.
