President Vahagn Khachaturyan congratulated Sam Simonian, the newly elected President of AGBU

President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan sent a congratulatory message to the newly elected President of AGBU Sam Simonian on taking office.

The message says:

"Dear Mr. Simonian,

I cordially congratulate You on your election as President of the Armenian General Benevolent Union and wish You fruitful and effective work. AGBU is one of those exceptional All-Armenian organizations whose activities and contribution over the decades to the preservation of the Armenian identity, the consolidation of the Diaspora, and after independence, the selfless support provided to our state, are difficult to overestimate.

I am full of hope that the General Benevolent Union, as a non-political and All-Armenian organization, under Your presidency, will continue to adhere to the fundamental principles and ideals of its content, implement current programs, as well as with a new strategy that meets the requirements and challenges of the time, with a new breath and taking into account modern global changes, will assume the mission of implementing reforms and Innovations.

Close cooperation with the Armenian General Benevolent Union and all structures of the Diaspora is particularly important for state bodies, central authorities and governments of the Republic of Armenia, since today the challenges facing our statehood and the Armenians around the world can only be countered by joint efforts.

I am confident that the dreams and goals of all of us coincide - to have a strong and prosperous Armenia, an influential and united Diaspora, I am also confident that You will spare no effort to achieve these goals.
