UN Secretary General António Guterres congratulates President Armen Sarkissian on Independence Day

On the Independence Day of the Republic of Armenia, the Secretary General of the United Nations António Guterres sent a congratulatory message to the President of the Republic Armen Sarkissian.

The congratulatory message says, in particular:

"These challenging times have reminded us once again of the importance of each country contributing to our global prosperity.

As we work together to overcome the coronavirus pandemic, we must use this period of recovery to build a more resilient, stable, and just society. We must also undertake bold steps to address climate urgency to achieve the sustainable development goals.

On the occasion of National Day, I hope that the Republic of Armenia will help strengthen the United Nations and build a better, more peaceful world for all of us.”
