The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin sent a congratulatory message to the President of the Republic Armen Sarkissian on Armenia’s Independence Day.

The message says:

"Good traditions of friendship, cultural and spiritual closeness underlie the relations with Armenia. Their further development in the allied spirit is, undoubtedly, in the fundamental interests of our fraternal peoples.

I am convinced that the consistent implementation of the high-level trilateral agreements reached late last year and early this year is a guarantee of long-term peace and stability for the entire Transcaucasia.

I sincerely wish you, dear Armen Vardanovich, good health and success, and your compatriots well-being and prosperity."
