President Serzh Sargsyan sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Friendship State Dance Ensemble

“I warmly congratulate the Friendship State Dance Ensemble - one of the most prominent dance groups in Armenia on the occasion of its 25th jubilee.

Created in 1987, the Friendship Ensemble breathed new life into the Armenian dance art. From day one of its existence, the Ensemble has attracted audiences through its diverse dance program and brilliant performance of the folk dances of various peoples. It has also become a unique interpreter and propagator of the Armenian folk dances on different stages of the world.

One of the outstanding features of the Friendship is its ability to interlace the Armenian folk dances with the elements of the classical dance which is done masterfully by the Artistic Director of the Ensemble Norayr Mehrabian.

For its great artistic achievements and high-class performance, in 2008 the Friendship Ensemble was deservedly awarded the high title of the Distinguished Ensemble.

I once again cordially congratulate the Friendship State Dance Ensemble on its 25th anniversary and wish boundless vigor and new artistic achievements.”
