President Serzh Sargsyan sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Chamber Music State Orchestra of Armenia

The message states:

“I congratulate the Chamber Music State Orchestra of Armenia and entire music society of Armenia on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the creation of the Orchestra.

Armenia’s Distinguished Art Worker, a great devotee of the creative performance Zareh Sahakyants, who was standing at the origins of the creation of the Orchestra, had substantially defined the future image and professional level of the Orchestra, shaped its artistic style and taste.

Based on the established artistic image, the leaders of the next generation formed the subsequent artistic road of this musical ensemble among them Armenia’s Distinguished Art Worker Konstantin Baghdassarian, People’s Artist Rouben Aharonian, Distinguished Art Worker Zaven Vardanian, People’s Artist of the Russian Federation, Distinguished Conductor Emin Khatchaturian, Armenia’s Distinguished Art Worker Aram Gharabekian, and today this mission is being successfully carried out by maestro Vahan Martirossian. The brilliant and highly professional musicians of the Orchestra through their dedicated work have created the ensemble’s biography, raised public interest towards the art of chamber music, promoted chamber music in Armenia, creating universal interest towards this art and most importantly, have been contributing to the formation of the spectators’ exquisite taste. The Chamber Music Orchestra has also inspired Armenian authors to create new chamber music pieces, enriching the palette of the Armenian modern school of composers.

Performances by the Orchestra of the pieces of the chamber music world and Armenian classics as well as those of the modern composers have become prominent events not only in Armenia but also in many countries of the world, bringing great recognition to and glorifying the Armenian art of performance and manifesting achievements of the Armenian school of composers.

I extend my warmest congratulation on the 50th anniversary of the Chamber Music State Orchestra of Armenia and wish the Orchestra a long and productive life, new artistic achievements for the glory of the Armenian cultural and masterly performance.”
