President Serzh Sargsyan sent a congratulatory message to the President of the USA
The massage states:
"The Honorable Barack Obama
President of the United States of America
On behalf of the people of Armenia and on my own behalf I would like to congratulate you warmly for having been awarded the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize.
Armenia greatly welcomes your efforts aimed at establishing trust, stability, security and cooperation in the world. From the very first days of your Presidency you have undertaken a number of important and courageous initiatives, particularly on the settlement of various protracted conflicts and on the establishment of political dialogue with different forces.
We are confident that all differences and controversies currently existing in the world can and should be resolved through dialogue, since only the solutions that are achieved through dialogue satisfy all parties, and become stable and durable.
We value and appreciate the constructive role of United States that it plays as the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair, aimed at peaceful resolution of the Nagorno Karabagh conflict.
I would also like to extend my sincere appreciation to the US Administration, particularly to you and Secretary Clinton, for your consistent support in the issue of the normalization of Armenia-Turkey relations, which you personally reiterated once again during our telephone conversation in the course of my meetings with the US-Armenian community. I am confident that without the United States’ decisive support it would have been impossible to make successful efforts in that direction.
I wish you all the success in your endeavors for the sake of the triumph of universal values and for the establishment of global stability and security.
